Since the Bytown Museum first conceived of the Capital Neighbourhoods project, our objective has been to help Canadians better understand the community that is their capital. For many people, Ottawa is synonymous with government, but there's so much more beyond Parliament Hill. We want to show off Ottawa's incredible history and diversity. And we want local residents and visiting Canadians to take a second look at many of the buildings and sites they walk by in downtown Ottawa. Ultimately, the true test of this web site will be left up to the visitors – we need your stories to complete ours. So please take some time to share your Ottawa story with us.
The Bytown Museum gratefully acknowledges the financial investment by the Department of Canadian Heritage in the creation of this online presentation for the Virtual Museum of Canada.
